Introduction to Handgun Fundamentals - IN CLASS

This introductory course specifically goes in-depth in the basic operation and manipulation of a modern handgun. Although the key principles will be with the use of a striker-fired semi-automatic handgun (Glock, M&P, Sig Sauer, etc) however, the additional use of revolver and Single/Double action will also be discussed. A Training Pistol, several functioning firearms, and a military-styled rifle will be present during the classroom session. We'll talk about the 4 universal gun rules, discuss the loading and clearing of firearms, semi-automatic slide manipulation, understanding magazines, pistol calibers, and ammunition, the pros & cons of handgun choices, and most importantly, legal handgun ownership & legal myth-busting. What you can do, and what you should NOT do with your handgun. 1 to 1.5 Hours of range time will be allocated at a nearby range on the same day in addition to the classroom time. Firing range time will be at either Firing Line in Westland (10-15 minutes) or Huron Valley Guns in New Hudson (15 min drive). Both the final examination and range time will be split depending upon student count.
